| Welcome to Freycinet Eco Retreat at Mt Paul |
The Location Freycinet Eco Retreat is located at Mt Paul which is a 1200 acre property situated in the centre of the Freycinet Peninsula offering accommodation in eco-cabins, and also a private camp site and venue called the Barn. All our facilities are well spaced out, so the atmosphere is one of a retreat. Our "eco-lectic" range of buildings offers water and energy efficient low impact examples of green building, and all our accommodation has stunning water views.
The Accommodation Lodges
Saltwater Shack
Our two purpose built eco-cabins called "The Lodges" and a retro cabin called "Saltwater Shack" provide private accommodation on Mt Paul for up to 8 guests. For those seeking peace and quiet, bird song and star light, this is the perfect natural get away, but with no compromise to comfort. It's also a great retreat for the cooler months as the cabins all have log burners, TVs and DVDs with libraries, and the Lodges are double glazed and fully insulated - features which few other places locally can boast.
If you are expecting a resort, you will be disappointed as we are a nature retreat and we particularly appeal to travellers who appreciate getting away from it all in a truly natural and beautiful environment. We offer a very different experience from larger organisations, but still provide a professional, individual service and an experience that you will remember. Guests in November 2012 had this to say: "Absolutely Fantastic! I wondered if all the positive reviews could be true and it is even better than I expected. This is a very special place! Saw my first wombat in the wild and the Superb Fairy Wrens were adorable Nearby is the coastal village of Swanwick and the town of Coles Bay as well as the resorts of Saffire, the Edge of the Bay and Freycinet Lodge, which together with cabins and camping areas at Iluka Holiday Park provide a range of accommodation for differing tastes and budgets. More information available at www.wineglassbay.com. Within the Freycinet area there is a range of activities including bushwalking, sea kayaking, nature cruises, diving, rock climbing, quad biking, penguin and dolphin tours, swimming, surfing, golf, great ocean and river fishing, or simply enjoyment of the wines, the fine foods, and the wildlife. Mt Paul is a registered Land For Wildlife property, and we are from time to time engaged in raising orphaned wildlife - see our blog www.crittercolumn.blogspot.com - for release back to the wild. |
